The website limits the collection of personal data to the minimum necessary. We process data for the following purposes:

A. Handling of repeater database change requests

Scope of data: The email address of the person reporting the change, optionally their amateur radio callsign, and the content of the report.
Purpose: Verification of the submitted technical information regarding the repeater and contacting the author of the report to clarify details.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest of the administrator (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) consisting in ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the published technical data.

B. Security and protection against abuse

Scope of data: User’s IP address.
Purpose: Prevention of abuse, spam (form filtering), and ensuring the stability and security of the Website’s infrastructure (rate-limiting).
Legal basis: Legitimate interest of the controller (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in securing the Website against harmful activities.

C. Server logs

Scope of data: IP address, browser information, operating system, and the date and time of the request.
Purpose: Proper administration of the server and the generation of statistics to assist in optimizing the operation of the Website.

Authorised administrators and technical moderators of the Website (PZK volunteers responsible for the verification and coordination of the repeater database).

International access: Due to the international reach of the Service and its editorial structure, access to change submissions (containing email addresses and IP addresses) may be granted to authorised technical coordinators (volunteers) performing their duties outside the European Economic Area (EEA) – including in the United Kingdom, the United States, or other countries. The Administrator ensures appropriate safeguards for such transfers, in particular by requiring volunteers to maintain confidentiality and – where necessary – applying standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or relying on adequacy decisions.
Profiling: The Service does not use automated decision-making, including user profiling.

6. User Rights

Each data subject has the right to:

Access to your personal data and to obtain a copy of it.
Rectification (correction) of your data.
Erasure of data (‘the right to be forgotten’), provided there are no other overriding legal grounds preventing its erasure.

QTH Locator Coordinates: If a user chooses to save their geographical coordinates or QTH locator to facilitate faster searching of nearby repeaters on the map, this data is stored exclusively in their browser’s memory (it is not transmitted to the server database).

C. External analytical and diagnostic tools

In order to continuously monitor the stability of the Website and analyse traffic statistics, the following solutions may be utilised on the Website:

New Relic: An application performance monitoring tool for the server-side (backend) as well as loading times and errors on the user’s browser side (frontend). It is used for error diagnostics and improving the performance speed of the Website. Data is collected in an aggregated and anonymised form.
Google Analytics: An analytical service provided by Google LLC used to collect anonymous information about how users interact with the Website (e.g. number of visits, popular subpages). Google Analytics stores cookies on the user’s device. Consent for these cookies can be withdrawn at any time via browser settings or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Search Console: A diagnostic tool used to monitor the website’s visibility in the Google search engine and to verify indexing issues. The tool does not record the personal data of users visiting the Website.
