A step forward, but with history

Over a year has passed. On the frontend, nothing has changed. On the backend, magic was happening. Today, that magic has seen the light of day. The website has been rewritten from scratch, utilising the latest technologies in the IT industry. But first, three key points of the story:

• 2012 – the first version of the przemienniki.net website was launched, created by SQ5LWN
• 2025 – as the PZK, we successfully concluded discussions with SQ5LWN regarding the future maintenance of the przemienniki.net website
• 2026 – the rewriting of the website from scratch was completed

Reading Łukasz’s code, it was clear how much heart he had put into it; one could see the difficult moments, as well as the excitement. Unfortunately, many projects developed as a “one-man army” often share the same fate: oblivion, a lack of time, or being left to take on a life of their own. It is thanks to him that we are in this position today, and it is because of him that you are reading these very words.

What has changed?

From a technical perspective, that is everything. The service is now modular, built using an automated system (Jenkins). Everything is maintained in a repository. Both automated and security tests are also maintained. Monitoring is provided by New Relic, with Cloudflare handling the caching layer and security. What does this mean for you? Primarily, it ensures faster and more stable development, real-time monitoring of the website’s performance, and the detection of code errors at the local environment stage (which is one of several environments utilised before any changes become visible here).

What are the plans for the future?

A vast amount. We will be surprising you from time to time. And it will not be just once a year 😉

Currency of Data.

During the development of the new version, some data became outdated; some has been updated, and some will continue to be updated. The strength of our organisation lies in its members. Any of you can submit a change or report a new repeater. Furthermore, at the level of many local branches, there will be dedicated individuals managing this to ensure that updates are processed swiftly and data remains consistently up to date.

What is repeate.rs? “Think locally, act globally”

On a daily basis, we rely on foreign operating systems, tools, and services. Sometimes, it is worth shifting our perspective to identify what is missing from the market where a clear need exists. This is how the repeate.rs service was established. It represents a global version of przemienniki.net, developed so that every radio amateur can access the service in their native language. How many languages do we support? Please expand the list in the top right-hand corner. 😉 Will we stop there? Of course not! Just as WinLink is recognised worldwide, we aspire to be a truly global service, so that in the future you can proudly say: “Made in Poland”.
